Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).
When you finally find yourself.
Tell him I said.
Tell him I said good day.
When you finally find yourself.
Tell him I said.
Tell him I said goodbye.
The Story: Originally, I posting "It's Alright, It's OK" by Ashley Tisdale, "Goodbye to You" by Michelle Branch, "Ready or Not" by Bridgit Mendler, "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You" by George Benson, "I Believe in You" by Twisted Sister, "Can't Smile Without You" by Barry Manilow, "Signs" by Five Man Electrical Band, and "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly to this site. However, because a volunteer request "Goodbye" by this indie pop band to this site, I posting here as requested by a volunteer. For the lyrical content of this song, how Sydney Sierota drinking coffee like Good Day? Good Day coffee was a brand that popular when this band formed. But, in the original lyrics of this song, Sydney Sierota does not say "Good Day". It is that I get only in my dreams and not when I hear this song. For the future plan, I also posting another misheard lyrics of songs like "Hard Times" by Paramore, "I've Been in Love Before" by Cutting Crew, and "I Can Wait Forever" by Air Supply while the latter was just only in my dreams with "I Can Wait Forever" is the only exception that when I hear it. Unfortunately, I can't find "Goodbye" by this indie pop band on my playlist. Maybe, next time, I try to search this song. About this song: I posting this song to this site because they currently working on their new studio album. Sydney Sierota and friends formed this rock band that mixing their music between rock, indie pop, indie rock, pop rock, and alternative rock. This band was formed in February 2009 in Chino, California and originally formed as a quartet of siblings consists of Sydney Sierota on vocals, piano, and keyboards, Noah Sierota on bass, Graham Sierota on drums and percussion, and Jamie Sierota on guitar. Unfortunately, one of many questions is where Jamie Sierota now? Jamie Sierota focusing on family so leaving Sydney Sierota, Noah Sierota, and Graham Sierota under their band name. No guitar in this line-up except waiting for their new album "Inside a Dream" on 29 September 2017. They still so much young like I hear Alphaville sings their classic, "Forever Young". At that time, this indie pop band debuting on music when they at the age of between 15 and 20 years and originally formed this band as "Ready Set Go!" until they changing their band name quickly. Coldplay, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Smiths, The Killers, U2, Joy Division, Fleetwood Mac, and Paramore are their major influence. They has also released an array of covers of songs such as "I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons, "Lights" by Ellie Goulding, "Set Fire to the Rain" by Adele, and "Princess of China" by Coldplay and Rihanna. There is also a question by a volunteer that what Sydney Sierota and Ellie Goulding were similar in vocally. Their debut studio album was "Talking Dreams" released on 8 October 2013. The choice for their debut single was "Cool Kids". It would be their major hit to date with reaching #13 on Billboard's Pop Chart, #17 on the UK Singles Chart, and also charting internationally. The choice for their follow-up single was "Bright". Unfortunately, it did not match its previous single, "Cool Kids", where "Bright" was just reaching #40 on Billboard's Pop Chart. However, both songs become radio staples and entering their name into fame. Currently, they working on their second studio album, "Inside a Dream", including their lead single from this album, "Goodbye". According to them, it would be released on 29 September 2017. It was announced via the band's Twitter that this lead single was released on 14 July 2017. I hope for Sydney Sierota as the only female on this band and also Noah Sierota and Graham Sierota maybe listeners still know their name and maybe "Inside a Dream" success. Good luck! - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
I've been saving my soul, someone like you.
I've been saving my soul for someone like you.
The Story: I posted this band here for the first time. Sometimes, this line is broken into two lines without the singer singing "for" or sometimes I feel misheard before. It sounds like "Adele from the Indie Underground". About this song: Yes, it was performed by popular indie band that previously have a greatest hit titled "Cool Kids", which was peaking at #13 on Billboard's Pop Chart. Make them the highest position on this chart that performed by an alternative pop bands. Congrats and I love your music! - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
