Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Brian Setzer Orchestra

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Brian Setzer Orchestra's, "Jump Jive and Wail"
The Misheard Lyrics:
You gotta, drunk drive in your underwear.
The Real Lyrics:
You gotta, jump jive, then you wail.
The Story: My girlfriend is into big band/swing music. I watched her dance to this song and thought what terrible lyrics to promote drunk driving and lewdness! - Submitted by: sirgalahad
Brian Setzer Orchestra's, "Jump, Jive 'n' Wail"
The Misheard Lyrics:
You got a drunk driver in the way
The Real Lyrics:
You gotta jump, jive, and then you wail
The Story: I was watching the video for this song, when I first heard it. And since it is set in a nightclub, it only made it sound all the more like what I thought I heard. I didn't realize what it really said until it flashed the song title at the end. - Submitted by: Josh
