Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Adema

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Adema's, "Do What You Want To Do?"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Were will we go? I'm a fag.
The Real Lyrics:
Where will we go? I'm a mess.
The Story: I was listening to it on my portable cd player and I was really shocked at the message of the song. I thought it was a gay power song or something. But then I looked at the sheet and it made more sense. - Submitted by: Jarrett
Adema's, "Giving In"
The Misheard Lyrics:
I'm feeling Ovaltine.
The Real Lyrics:
I'm feeling all the pain.
The Story: Okay first off, I want to tell you that Ovaltine is a chocolate milk drink. When ever I was by myself in my house, my friend would come over and stay with me. We would listen to this song. And it is a freakishly creepy song so, of course, we got scared. Well one day we listened to this song and we got scared, and we built a tent to hide in. And we were hiding from spirits and ghosts. And I was feeling brave so I stepped out of the tent and looked down my hall. I saw a shadow and it looked like E.T. (extra terestrial) and that made us pee our pants. I told my mom, then my mom told my friends mom, and her mom blabbed it out to all our other friends. And all of our friends passed it on. We were the laughing stalk. - Submitted by: Jenny Tarr
