Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
This page contains all the misheard lyrics for Weir that have been submitted to this site and the old collection from inthe80s started in 1996.

Do you like it in the air?
All the thrills we'll have down there
Will you make it in the end?
Through all the twists and bends
When I first heard this in 1999, I thought Ella sounded as if she was in some kind of pain (the way she did high-pitched vocals in various portions of the song may offer testimony to this assumption) - yet the misheard lyrics defy this as they imply a rollercoaster or funfair ride which may be far less painful.
Do you want to cut down the trees
Will you make it in the end?
Would you make it in the end
or
One big maggot in the air
or
One big maggot in the air
Will you make it in the end
That we shaved these years.
That we shared all these years.
Walking naked in the air
Will you make it in the end
We'll get maggot in the end.
We can make it in the end.
'Getting maggot' is Aussie slang for getting drunk.
Will you get naked in the air,
yeah all twisting there,
will you fall from your dreams
Will you make it in the end?
through all the twists and bends,
will you fufill your dreams
Will you make it in the a**?
or
Will you bake it with a fascist?
Will you make it in the end?
Will you make it in the end?
Through all the chips and bread
Will you make it in the end?
Through all the twists and bends
Will you spank it in the end?
Will you make it in the end?
Would you like it in the a**?
Would you make it in the end?
Would you like it in the ass?
Will you make it in the end?
Editor's note: I'm not putting your address in here. You'll thank me.
Would you like it in the end
Will you make it in the end?
Would you take it up the a***?
Will you make it in the end?
