Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
This page contains all the misheard lyrics for Teach Your Children that have been submitted to this site and the old collection from inthe80s started in 1996.

And so pick on yourself.
And so become yourself.
From the 1994 revival (minus Young).
Teach your children to yell
Teach your children well
Teach your children well,
Their father’s hell will slowly go by...
Teach your children well,
Their father's health will slowly go by...
Teach your children well,
Their father's health will slowly go by,
And feed them on their dreams
The one they picked, the one you don't like.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you.
Teach your children well,
Their father's hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picks, the one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you.
That you Elmer's Glue by.
That your elders grew by.
That your elders groove by
That your elders grew by
The ones they bitch
The ones they picks
I suspect that the way I heard it may be the way Graham Nash really wrote it, but lyrics got edited along the way to make it more acceptable to broader audiences. "The ones they picks" makes no sense, and "the ones they bitch" kind of does.
They seek the turf.
They seek the truth.
You who are on the road must have a cold
You who are on the road must have a code
Editor's note: This song is credited as by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (since the four of them were together when they recorded/released it, although Nash wrote it).
