Baby I'll be there to bare the land
Baby I'll be there to share the land.
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
Maybe I'll be there to share the land.
Baby I'll be there to bare the land
Baby I'll be there to share the land.
Maybe I'll be there to take your hand
Maybe I'll be there to share the land.
Baby I'll be there to bare the land
Baby I'll be there to share the land
Debbie, give it away.
Maybe I'll be there to take your hand
Maybe I'll be there to share the land
That they'll be giving away.
Shaby I'll be there to bare the land,
Shaby I'll be there to share the land
Maybe I'll be there to take your hand,
Maybe I'll be there to share the land
Baby I'll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Baby I'll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they'll be givin' away
When we all live together
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Maybe I'll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they'll be givin' away
When we all live together
I have to admit I was riding the wave of 70s' optimism in 1970 when I heard this. So there was no question in my mind the singer would be there to 'share the land'. I should have known that Burton Cummings, being Canadian, was a lot more cynical than that.
Maybe I'll be there for Chevrolet
Maybe I'll be there to share the land
