Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
This page contains all the misheard lyrics for Maniac that have been submitted to this site and the old collection from inthe80s started in 1996.

And she's guessing like she's never guessed before
And she's dancing like she's never danced before
Cheesy maniac
She's a maniac
If the kid becomes a fight
If the gift becomes a fire
Is a place most smelly feet
Is a place most never see
It can catch you like a night
It can cut you like a knife
It's a bush of woods.
It's a push-shove world.
It's a hard warm place of mystery
Touch it, but can't hold it.
It's a hard won place of mystery
Touch it, but can't hold it.
It's a hard wooden place of mystery
Touch it, but can't hold it.
It's a hard won place of mystery
Touch it, but can't hold it.
It's a push of the world, but there's always a chance
If the hunger stays the night.
It's a push-shove world, but there's always a chance
If the hunger stays alive.
It's a push-up world
It's a push-shove world
It's hard one place of ministry
That's what she came for, yeah.
It's a hard won place of mystery
Touch it, but can't hold it.
Just a steamed-down girl on a Saturday night
Just a steel town girl on a Saturday night
Just a still town girl on a Saturday night
Just a steel-town girl on a Saturday night
Locking rhythms to the beat of her heart, changing woman into life.
Locking rhythms to the beat of her heart, changing movement into light.
On the ice-build iron sanity is a place most never see.
On the ice blue line of insanity is a place most never see.
On the iceberg of insanity - it's a place most never see.
On the ice blue line of insanity is a place most never see.
Sounds like a pretty ominous place.
She's a Maisy Mouse
She's a maniac
Maisy Mouse is a series of books by Lucy Cousins.
She's a maniac, maniac on the phone.
She's a maniac, maniac on the floor.
She's a maniac, maniac, at your door.
She's a maniac, maniac, I sure know.
There is an urban legend about this song (not sure if true) that it was originally written by Sembello as a song about a slasher/murderer. Presumably he modified the lyric when he got the Flashdance gig. This second chorus phrase 'at your door' may be a remnant of that original lyric.
She's a maniac, maniac, at your floor,
and she's dancin' like she never dance before!
She's a maniac, maniac, I sure know,
and she's dancin' like she's never danced before!
She's a maniac, maniac, at your nose.
She's a maniac, maniac, I sure know.
She's a maniac, maniac, el sprasso.
She's a maniac, maniac, on the floor.
She's a maniac, maniac, on the phone.
She's a maniac, maniac, on the floor.
She's a maniac, maniac, that's for sure!
She's a maniac, maniac on the floor!
She's a radio, radio up your nose
She's a maniac, maniac at your door
She's a radio
She's a maniac
There's a coconatic heat
There's a cold, kinetic heat
There's a coconut in heat
Struggling, stretching for the beat.
There's a cold, kinetic heat
Struggling, stretching for the beat.
There's a coconut to eat
There's a cold, kinetic heat
There's a cold connective heat, struggling, stretching for defeat.
There's a cold kinetic heat, struggling, stretching for the beat.
Editor's note: The first line of this one is disputed; some sites say "connective" while others say "kinetic." I'll go with "kinetic" until I see the liner notes OR an official site.
There's a cold connective heat
There's a cold kinetic heat
You run for your life for that moment in time
You work all your life for that moment in time
