After Cold Chisel disbanded, guitarist and vocalist Ian Moss took a break from the music industry before launching his solo career in October 1986. His debut album "Matchbook", released in 1989, reached number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, where it remained at the peak spot for three weeks and sold more than 200,000 copies. Two singles from the album "Tucker's Daughter' and 'Telephone Booth' reached the Top 10 in the ARIA singles chart. He has released seven more albums as well as playing with Cold Chisel when they reformed in the late 1990s.

Coles played keyboards and was the co-writer of some of the band’s biggest hits. After leaving the pop music scene, Coles trained for the priesthood, ultimately becoming an Anglican priest.
