Story about this misheard lyric by: Elliott Bettman

I was a soft rock nerd during Junior High and High School (WNIC is actually the name of the Detroit soft rock station-they are more Top 40 and Pop-oriented these days.) I switched to the Hard Stuff in 1979 in College. When I first heard these lyrics, the Iran Hostage Crisis was unfolding. (the song-of course, is much older.) But, I figured, given some of the other lyrics in that song, perhaps the lads were being insightful and prescient about the future of a shah-less Iran.
