- The band began casting about for a name during band practices. Ric Ivanisevich mentioned seeing some oleander bushes next to some railroad tracks near their practice space. Thomas Flowers and Doug Eldridge figured it was oblique enough to pass muster. As Thomas said, "It's so ambiguous that it could be a disco band or a death-metal band." Submitted by: Raven
