  • An all-purpose set of initials. Originally they were going to change what it stood for on each release, but they only got as far as "Kopyright Liberation Front" then gave up and just stuck to the three letters instead. Submitted by: Jenny Turner

Funny Lyrics:

"Justified & Ancient"
The Funny Lyrics:
They travel the world, in their ice-cream van
They've voyaged to the bottom of time
They've been to the place where the mu-mu mate
And the children still cry 'Mine's a 99!'
Why They're Funny:
In reply to Alex MacFie's points... The Mu Mu are The KLF's aka name as mention in Last Train To Trancentral - The KLF also known as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, furthermore known as The JAMMs (guess what JAMM stood for?!) they also have released under various other names too - The KLF (according to Bill & Jimmy The KLF doesn't stand for anything but there are various places where they are reffered to as The Kopyright Liberation Front), The K Foundation, The Timelords, Penkiln Burn, Space (not the same group that did Tom Jones & I), 2K, K2 Plant Hire, Bill Drummond, Jim Cauty. As for where the Mu Mu comes from it, like most of the work by The KLF is all taken from The Illuminatus book which tells the story of a tribe that were very similar to Atlantis. The main bits is that they saw certain symbols and numbers as special magical numbers like K, 23. As for the Mine's a 99 in the song, go to an ice-cream van and say mine's a 99 and see what you get! A 99 is the ice cream with a flake in it 'Flake 99' and to promote the Justified & Ancient track The KLF aquired an ice cream van and give out free '99's in Liverpool.

Why They're Funny:
This is surreal and silly at the same time. What are the mu-mu? I guess the children crying Mine's a 99 has appeal to nostalgia... when I want to hear this it is to escape from reality into a daft world.
