Story about this misheard lyric by: Charles Patrick Granat I was a recent 9-year-old convert to Christ, and had joined the choir, called the Junior Songsters. I learned the words by listening to the other singers. Even though I had a songbook to guide me, my imagination carried me away. I was convinced that we could better serve the cause of Christ if our hearts were wrapped in lead. After all, lead protected Superman! I pictured valiant missionaries dressed as knights in thick lead armor, swinging swords against demons. |
