The Lyrics

Don't know where this came from, but the visual popped into my head of a crotchety old man on a bus who leaps from his seat, starts wielding a cane at a disrespectful youth, and threatens the youngin in verse.

This is to Shakespeare's famous Sonnet 18 that you will find here: Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day?.
Shall I impair thee with an oaken cane?
Thy noise repels me with sore dissonance.
Thy shins may ache with sharpy thuds of pain
Those rad beliefs, sad fall, such lack o' sense
Thump time, you sot, and I, the elder, cry:
“The oaf and his rude invented whims
Are nary fair, and err of mind I spy
Has lanced our feeble hearing, coarse and grim.”
Now my internal rumble I’ll engage
Will loose this lesson on this knave, life lowest
How thy jests brag, foul younger pest, best in cage
Feel each inflicted bump, how fine lump growest.

Thou brought ennui to me, now peace I seek
So take these hits, as hits bring mirth to meek.
So treat your elders with respect, or they shall go Shakespearean on your butt. Originally appeared in the Quarto version of The Blogging Baker.

This is a good one. Reminds me of the scene in the Star Trek movie when Spock put the Vulcan pinch on the punk with the loud boom box.

Thanks, Patrick. One of my favorite scenes from The Voyage Home; it was definitely a kick.
