Stuffed in a dresser, wrinkled there,
Hung on a closet door
Awful, we treat that scarf of wear
Once, a shirt's companion,
Not so much anymore..
Striped, or solid blues, and whites,
Flowery, some were checked
Kids use 'em now for tails on kites
Like sand in a canyon
They get no respect..

Ties did their duty well,
Pleased every wife and gal,
Weddings and fun'rals, church, or formal bound
Now is a time to show
We care, but let 'em go,
Our old ties deserve a burial ground

No one could ever tie them knots
Always a losin' aim
Kept us uncomfy like Don Knotts
Lately, guys abandon
That crazy hangman's game
Wearin' a novelty was fun
Christmas tree, blink lights, flame
Or a nude bathin' in the sun
With brown suit, a tan one
Ties have had their fame..

Honor 'em on a ship
Bury at sea, last trip
Blast 'em in space or place in a special mound
Make a memorial
Plaque a pictorial,
Our old ties deserve a burial ground
