Thanks Jon. Toys R Us was originally Children's Supermarket located next to a bar whose patrons asked Charles Lazarus to make baby toys as well as children's furniture. He did and then expanded to other toys before being bought out in 1957. He originally wanted to change the name to Laz R Us based on his name but with the toys it became Toys R Us. Lazarus was a WW2 cryptologist so arranged the R backwards to spark children's imaginations. By leaving out the a and e Toys R Us can spell So Try Us subliminally! Quite ingenious!
