The Lyrics

It’s time for yet another reprise of this site’s favorite hoboes-with-oboes tune onto the board, the 91,845,247,953,260,753,397,674,337,291,353,367,298,590,164,789,536,428,696,489,124,256,478,901th parody of “Rhythm Steps” by Herbie Kay and his orchestra posted to AmIRight. Woooo!!! Yeah, ‘tard anthem!!!
Sing, (Start in to sing, you’ll have to swing,)
Then, you’ll swing, (Start in to sing, you’ll have to swing,)
That Staples is bound to get you,

Oh, (Turn on the heat, then beat your feet,)
Don’t go slow, (Turn on the heat, then beat your feet,)
That Staples is bound to get you,

Staples, Staples, Staples, Staples, Staples…mmm...

(female vocal)

Staples Steps,
Start in to sing, then soon, you’ll be swinging,
Staples Steps,
Turn on the heat, your feet will keep beating,

One, two, three,
It’s a new sensation, (dee-de-oh!)
You’ll agree,
It’s the step that’s putting the world on its feet,

Staples Steps,
Once you begin, you have to give in to
Staples Steps,
Get on your toes, ‘cause everyone knows that

If you’re not a dunce,
Oh, you’ll catch on at once,
Well, print, save; “That was easy!”,
That’s the Staples Steps!

(vocal trio)

Staples Steps,
Start in to sing, then soon, you’ll be swinging,
Staples Steps,
Turn on the heat, your feet will keep beating,

One, two, three,
It’s a new sensation, (doo-doo-do-doo!)
You’ll agree,
It’s the step that’s putting the world on its feet,

Staples Steps,
Once you begin, you have to give in to
Staples Steps,
Get on your toes, ‘cause everyone knows that

If you’re not a dunce,
You’ll catch on at once,
Print, save; “That was easy!”,
That’s the Staples Steps, whoa!

Staples Steps,
(instrumental call-back)
Staples Steps,
(instrumental call-back)

One, two, three,
It’s a new sensation, (doo-doo-do-doo!)
You’ll agree,
It’s the step that’s putting the world on its feet,

Staples Steps,
(instrumental call-back)
Staples Steps,
(instrumental call-back)

If you’re not a dunce,
You’ll catch on at once,
Print, save; “That was easy!”,
That’s the Staples Steps, whoa!

Simple as the day is long!

So GeorgeAndGermaineBriantFan, I have a question: if you compiled what you would say were your best entries, would you call that collection your greatest $#its? Bonus question: is it true your mom was trying to find out if retroactive abortion was possible? Imagine this site with a regular ID log in setup. The clutter would be cut dramatically.

Hey Captain Obvious, I thought of a new board name for ya: Jehova’s Witlesses. I guess it’s also time to revisit my parody writing situation: Over the past several months I have mostly been reprising older entries lately because I’m too preoccupied to write anything new, and I’ve pretty much run out of topic ideas. The good thing for me is that I have a backload of one-shot entries that can be repackaged as new entries when Phil Ossifer carpet bombs the board with stupidity, so my good name remains unsullied. And would you believe it, the Rhythm Steps song is still allowed here (albeit you have to trick the OS title/artist form). As the intro to this entry said: “Woooo!!! Yeah, ‘tard anthem!!!”

You fool no one. You need the attention so you'll continue to post this stupid stuff every day. Gotta say, as much as I detest each version of your ‘tard anthem, I couldn’t help but notice that your attempt to make a parody out of another geezer song was every bit as pathetic. On this board you’re basically the Affirmative Action kid who somehow found himself at MIT. Seems like what little talent you may have (debatable) would be better applied to collecting paper bags. Lastly, your subpar IQ showed its true self when you took a word I wrote and tried to extrapolate race from it. No blacks here (NTTAWWI). Our lineage is primarily Welsh. Sharpen your crayon and try again.

^^^^^Captain Obvious, spreading his subpar IQ for the world to see. I ask because you’re offended over a moment spoken by a white radio host, which was literally two seconds long; plus your Welsh accent is more than coming through in these comments. All my parodies are based off white, Depression-era swing bands. Won’t see me posting anything from an era after that. Why? Because I don’t need to. Every song recorded after the 1940s is garbage.

I'm fortunate that my job allows me to have a good life, which includes time to indulge my interests. It took a lot to get to where I am now, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I'll admit, the morbidly curious side of me wonders how a low-effort, double-digit IQ person like yourself goes about picking which fast food place to work at. Is there a copy/paste button on the register or are you strictly stuck doing fries?

G&GBF, steal much? You couldn't have come up with anything as clever as Jehova's Witlesses on your own if your life depended on it. Here's hoping it does. Subpar IQ? I'll match mine against yours any day especially since I'm not the one who has to steal comments and ideas from other posters, let alone fixate on some forgotten song from the distant past. Still trying to establish that "offended" narrative? Not surprising from someone who claims he can detect a Welsh accent from text.

^^^^^Phil Ossifer demonstrating that “Rhythm Steps” rocks, despite never having listened to the original song or taken the time to realize what it’s all about.
Phil Ossifer - May 21, 2024 - Report this comment
Great response. Obviously logic isn't your strong suit, but it's been apparent for some time that you don't seem to have one to begin with. As regards your geezer tune, modern technology is incapable of measuring the antipathy I have for that genre. Maybe you could gather all your sock puppets in a circle and enlighten them as to the deep, hidden meaning behind the trite lyrics.
George&GermaineBriantFan - May 21, 2024 - Report this comment
Great attempt. So you claim you can’t find the time in a day to listen to “Rhythm Steps” yet here you are spending the exact same time as the song’s length writing a comment, just to have an excuse to act offended by the song, 24/7. Let me know if the stupidity of that ever sinks in. As regards your statement, modern technology is incapable of measuring the antipathy I have for your constant offense over early television, a two-syllable exclamation said at a high school graduation in 1973 or the fact that I’m the only person alive who actually cares about “Rhythm Steps”. That song should become the National Anthem of the USA, but Congress wouldn’t allow it because it would be “racist”, just like you’ve claimed the song is 8 billion times before. Listen to the OS for once and try again.
Phil Ossifer - May 21, 2024 - Report this comment
You seem to want to keep yelling "racism" when I have yet to post anything of the sort. Princess Bride movie reference (it's in color so you probably haven't seen it) "I do not think that means what you think it means." Ditto for "offense". None taken, none demonstrated. I'm guessing this is your repeato-tard gene needing to satisfy the desire to keep putting the same stuff up, day after day. Lastly, no I'll never listen to your stupid song, even at gunpoint. If you like it, it must be a POS.
