Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"The Old Gold Settler"

Parody Written by:

Blaydeman

The Lyrics

Prospecting was a way of life, and the veterans don't take kindly to competition.
Verse 1: When the rush of gold was flowing
Came a fellow everyone knows
He's the old gold settler
Staking claim wherever he goes

Verse 2: Every morning, you will find him
Knee-deep in river soot
Yes this old gold settler
Golden smells under his foot

Verse 3: He sees the people sifting
As the sunset starts to fade
That the day's sad exhausted faces
Will meet the sharp end of his spade

Verse 4: He's a man of epic stubble
He's a man of wealthy stench
Cuz this old gold settler
Has a giant gold-filled trench

Not bad but I think that I like your song "California Rush" about the Gold Rush better. Not a whole bunch of laugh out loud lines but it was a cute piece of history that I could see on an episode of Schoolhouse Rock

I think that maybe it has already been an episode of Deadwood. ;-)

I agree with Matty that this is straight out of a Schoolhouse Rock special. Pacing was spot on, but could have sifted for a few more laughs.

Cute, but as noted above, not a giggle-buster.

(Artistry) Pretty basic stuff here. Enjoyable enough for a 555, but like the others have said, you could've mined for a few more laughs (though you were probably limited by the OS, to be fair).

More than enough shine for gold, I can tell you that.
