Parody Song Title:

"Computer Failure"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I thought this was a fairly appropriate song to ruin in honor of my computer almost killing itself five minutes before my first deadline with the newspaper I've managed to snag an internship with....miraculously, the computer started acting normal again in the nick of time. My computer's name is Geneva, by the way. (Yes, I am fully aware of how dorky it is to name inanimate objects.)
What's this? What's this?
The screen is flashing blue
What's this?
An error message, too
What's this?
I can't believe my eyes
I will start screaming
What the hell, this isn't fair!
What's this?

What's this? What's this?
There's something very wrong
What's this?
It's taking way too long!

What's this?
The CPU is
Groaning memory full
Somebody has sent me a virus
In the subject-title Iris?
What is this?
What's this?

The day of my first deadline
I'm pounding on my head
Because I didn't save
And Geneva has gone dead

She will not open programs
I want to gouge out my eyes
For in my heart I know I won't
Get back the work inside

Oh, look
What's this?
The video card goes, I'm pissed
Off at technology, I'm fired
If I can't send my first real story
They'll roast my fat ass upon a fire....
What's this?
What's this?

And now Geneva's making beeps, how queer
I simply cannot think
Of why?

The error messages are bloody confusing
Because they caused my work's losing
And you know I was almost done
Forgot to save and that was wrong
What have I done?
What have I done?
Can this ever become fixed?
What's this?

Oh my, what now?
Geneva comes alive
And look, there's pages one through five
No beeps, no errors here to cause me trouble
Make blood bubble, only words and image things
Secure inside the program
What's this?

The errors all have vanished
Now they're nowhere to be found
And in my room there seems to be
No scary groaning sounds.

It almost crashed, I swear
And I was tearing at my hair
But now everything's fine
And joy is filling up the air

I type, I send
Till it says "done," I apprehend...
I've never felt so good before
I was ready to commit hari-kari but
Geneva was just contrary

It's finished, oh, it's finished
Oh, I got it in on time
How, I don't know
How, I don't know
And then my computer explodes
What is this?

Yup, brilliance. Already told you, but now I'm telling the rest of the amiright-reading world - brilliant. 5'd, and I'd give more if I could :).

Thanks guys. :-) :-) :-) Doesn't it bring forth the mental image of Jack the Pumpkin King swearing at his computer?

DKTOS, and I'd have missed this but for neminem's comment.. which would have been a shame, 'cause this is fun (I have a penchant for techie parodies, 'tis true). Tell me, though: why "Geneva"? Is it 'cause it's boring and Swiss? Or possibly just rather "conventional"?

Geneva seemed like an exotic and beautiful name when I first stumbled across it.

Best ``Nightmare Before Christmas'' parody so far , this is much better...although some of the pacing is a tad off...but still , awesome work Starlette!

Deserved 5,5,5. Phil, I was just wondering-what does DKTOS mean? Otherwise though, a real good song.
