Look for the MGM lion
The angry roaring lion logo
Listen to him snarl and roar away
Oh yes the MGM lion
Is the most famous lion of all you know
He can roar and roar and roar and roar all day

He sits in a great big ring on screen
And roars so much you'd think he's mean
But he's really not
It's just the job he's got
It's he who announces that the movie will start
It's the MGM logo, and roaring is his part
No other logo follows him

So when you hear his roar it's movie time!
It's movie time!

Look for the MGM lion
He's the greatest lion on tv
That's why he's in every MGM movie
When he appears the screen is dark
And he'll give out a roar--not a bark!
He's the biggest bravest loudest lion in town

Oh maybe Simba and his friends can sing
But only MGM can roar like a king
Other lions have found fame before
But no one else has done it with their ROAR!
All the other animals run and flee
When the MGM lion roars on tv
And you can't blame him for being proud
Of a roar that is so very loud!
No matter if his voice is sore
Put him on screen, and he'll roar more!

So when you hear his roar it's movie time!
It's movie time!

Oh the lion's fans are loyal
He's so regal and royal
At MGM he does reign
With a mighty roar and a mighty mane
Although, there are some who do complain
That his constant roar is quite a pain!
It drives some folks insane!

"It's so boring!" they like to say
"Make him go away today!"
This lion's way too boring to withstand!
But really the lion is grand
Stupid comments like that aren't a prob'
He just goes ahead and does his job
And when it's time to eat
Those whiners are his meat!

So sit back, it's movie time!
