The Lyrics

On Tuesday, January 6, 2004 Seattle had it's biggest snowstorm in eight years. Some of the city streets were shut down, and hundreds of people grabbed sleds, skiis, ironing boards - anything that would go downhill on snow. Here it is Wednesday night, and most of the snow has turned to mounds of slush. That inspired this . . ..
Yesterday - kids were callin',
Grab your sled - Snow's a-fallin'.
The wintery play is history today.
Sloshing through the slushy snow again.

Store away your toboggan,
Wave goodbye - Snow's a-goin'.
It's forty degrees - We're up to our knees,
Sloshin' through the slushy snow again.

In the morning, we had built a snowman.
He resembled Presley in his prime.
Blue Suede Shoes are all that's left of snowman.
Seems Elvis left the planet one more time.

Later on, we'll perspire - Temperature's climbing higher.
We wish it would freeze, like thirty degrees,
So the rain would turn to snow again.

In the afternoon we built an igloo.
Nanook of the North would sure be proud.
Now it's just a slipp'ry, soggy slush pool.
The in-laws can't sleep there when they're in town.

Late last night - we were chillin'.
Snowball fights - just like children.
We woke up today - It's melting away.
Sloshing through the slushy snow again.
Slush will soak your underwear young man.
Sloshing through the slushy snow again.

I dunno... I reckon a soggy slush pool would be JUST the place to house the in-laws ;-) Very funny.

I'm in Olympia, WA so we're sloshing around down here today too. Hope this song snowballs into a hit. Fives!

Thanks All - I'm very glad you liked it. I hope this will let AussieBullDog see what "fun" he's missing up here in the semi-frozen north.

To David, looks like you did the parody before I could. Same thing here in Portland, only here everything is iced over.
