Song Parodies -> "Mister Spock-man"

Original Song Title:

"Mister Sandman"

Original Performer:

The Chordettes

Parody Song Title:

"Mister Spock-man"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

Mister Spock-man, Vulcan-ish genes
Only half-human, Mum played field it seems...
Has pointy ears, like canine-ish Rover
And then his eyebrows: quite a sight, moreover!

Spock-man, he don’t condone
That thing called humour, no feelings shown
He’s emotionally lean
Mister Spock-man, smiles: unseen

Mister Spock-man, part of the team
Plays 3-D chess - game for which he is keen
The Captain’s moves have no logic - bother!
Yes, James T. Kirk sometimes, he’d gladly smother [1]

Spock-man, often has shown
Don't have no problem with bein’ alone
He turns on the tractor beam
Mister Spock-man, stolid regime

Mister Spock-man, haircut’s extreme
Does not illogicise as his mind is supreme
Given to mind melds, makes him seem so fancy
And when comes Pon Farr, well, it makes him antsy [2]

Mister Spock-man, Trekkies behold
His five-year mission, we saw it unfold
So - that Roddenberry, Gene
Mister Spock-man, brought us
He, he, he
Mister Spock-man, brought to our screens

[1] Get at the back of the queue, Nimoy. I saw him first.

[2] Quoting Wiki: "In Star Trek, pon farr is a psychophysical condition affecting Vulcans, in which Vulcan males and females go into heat every seven years, going into a blood fever, becoming violent, and finally dying if they do not mate with someone with whom they are empathically bonded or engage in the ritual battle known as kal-if-fee."

The fives of the many outweigh the ones of the few.

This parody much better than the show.

This time you've "pon" too "farr".

I must be the only one in this or any other galaxy who was never a Trekkie, but the choice of OS was delightful! Fave line: "Mum played field it seems..." ... as did Dr. House's mum, as we found out.
Spock is lucky. I go into a condition resembling pon farr about every seven days. In my youth, it was like every seven hours. I think we call it "horniness", and yes, it starts a lot of wars on Earth, too. 555, and a neolo-point bonus for "illogicise".

p. s.: More bonus points for continuing to find original topics when the home page seems to be filled every day with the same themes or even the same title switches on well-worn events.

Funny match-up. Always liked this song as much as I hated that cod-SF series. So may I join your club, Green Guy? Your comment was excellent and funny too btw.

I am quite lucky not to be inflicted with any base urges at all, other than base 2, base 16 -haha- but I suppose that if one were so inflicted, having coitus once every seven years would be tolerable. As I am not good at discerning sarcasm or other emotions, human or otherwise, I will generously regard this as hailing, rather than mocking, my hero. It is in fact mildly amusing. -ha- ha- Oh, that is my rendition of "laughter".

Are you two out of your Vulcan minds? ;-D

So Spock's seven year mission was to boldly ____ where no Vulcan had ____ before?

MP: Thanks, Michael, let's hope so!

John: I would humbly agree! I could never work out whether it was supposed to campy, like the Adam West Batman, or whether it was just plain crap acting.

2Eagle: Heh heh, love your work!

AGG: Not so! There is a reason why this was a rare M&P effort inasmuchas only one half of us contributed every word. The other one has no knowledge about it. Lost permanently in the Delta Quadrant so far as ST is concerned. Given I just made a reference to the Delta Quadrant, that should leave us in no doubt as to which hobbit has explored the universe, and which one stayed at home in denial! Funny comments. As for the last comment, each to their own. As for original stuff, we got a gang of that stuff. Usually every Tuesday, Thursday and maybe on a Friday. We have a bit of a backlog from the years when we were writing but not submitting :)

Rex: Thank you Rex :) Amazed it got to the 5th comment before your comment was used!

lifeliver: Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed it!

Dr Sheldon: You do read the intent correctly, it was more in praise. I saved my disdain for Tiberius, as you may have observed...

Question: Thanks for your interrogative name. Yes, frequently.

Nite Owl: Yes, and unlike Kirk, he didn't have to beat up alien males and get his shirt ripped as part of his mating ritual...

You infuse a Spock of being into a lifeless thing.

Fascinating, Captain. One of you humans takes a song and substitutes completely different words while simultaneously retaining the original rhyme scheme and melody .... and this causes all of you to react with paroxysms of laughter. Most illogical

well, looks like 2eagle time-warped and stole my comment for today back in 2012. That happens a lot, but it's better than being called a goat-felllater in the present-day. Logic dictates I give you 5's
