Part 31 of "The Unfortunates" sees men who want to expose Connor for what he was, and Catherine wanting to defend him.

(Thomas from the office arrives, sack in hand)
Catherine
Thomas, where are you going,

Thomas
Our MP lives in that house
Toss pot, thinks he’s so grand!

Who won his seat five years ago.
He’s done something in the past

Or are you raving mad?
What can I do, what’s to be done?

(Stanley arrives with others from the office)

He placed a very big bet
