The Lyrics

Patty Andrews passed away recently, so I decided to throw this in as a tribute to the close-harmony trio that made a mark in the genre.
These music nowadays I feel lonesome
But when I played their tune, it was awesome
And when you topped the charts, yes, it warmed my heart
With their brand of close harmony

"Call Me Maybe", "Starships" or "Eff You"
Sounds disappointing, meh, do they sniff glue?
And so I searched again, hoping to regain
The essence of real R-and-B

I'd like to hear swing, joys which you will bring
These 'swell songs you sing, they're so grand
The Sisters of Swing, from records to screen
"Bei Mir" to the "Boogie Woogie Boy"

Gratzie, they're bella, bella, bitteschoen, wunderbar!
They influenced real pop; I'd say they are superstars
The Sisters of Swing, from records to screen
Well, baby, they starred in La-La Land.

The Sisters of Swing
You've heard it all before but they're real good at this game
They're old but the best you'll ever have
I'd like to hear swing
I cannot help to tell you, man, play it again
Well, baby, they starred in La-La Land.

Gratzie, they're bella, bella, bitteschoen, wunderbar!
They influenced real pop; I'd say they are superstars

Re-dee, re-dee, re-dee, re-dee, re-dee, re-dee

Gratzie, they're bella, bella, bitteschoen, wunderbar!
They influenced real pop; I'd say they are superstars
The Sisters of Swing, from records to screen
Well, baby, they starred in La-La Land.

LPG - I also am a major Andrews Sisters fan and the original song is one I've performed on many gigs. This is a very fitting and well-executed final tribute to Patti, the last surviving sister. By chance, are you also familiar with the earlier Boswell Sisters? I agree with you that today's pop music pales in comparison. Really good job here on an exceptional amiright day of wonderful parodies and top writers.

@OMR - I got into the Sisters after playing a bunch of games like Bioshock and Mafia II. Suffice it to say that they did influence my musical tastes in a good way.

They were one of my all time favorite groups. Only the Beatles could measure up.
