Now that the Su T-50 PAK-FA has flown and will certainly enter prodiction for export, the next big question about Russian aviation is about a new stealth bomber called the PAK-DA being developed by Tupolev after decades of the secret Su T-60S apparently failed and Russian plasma stealth tested on the Su-47 Berkut was turned down for bomber use as impractical. So, the Russians are left with the same US tech- RAM, RAS, and anti-radar coatings, buried engines, and passive systems. Every so many years a new PAK-DA design emerges in planform or art, but the Russians claim it will not be ready until 2029 which is a long way off. The planned B-3 by comparison should be around by 2020 IF funding for manned bombers still exists by then, the US leaning toward more complex UCAVs... interesting bottom pic of modified Su-27 testing bomber engine exhaust...
