The Lyrics

The Me-328 was conceived as a cheap, wooden pulsejet fighter to be mass-produced powered by either 2-4 Argus 014 pulsejet engines. The wooden machine was severely damaged by the vibration of the pulsejets when mounted on the aft fuselage, so they were moved to under the wings, either singlely or in pairs. The Me-328A-1 fighter would have a speed of 572 mph and would be armed with 2x 20mm MG-151/20s plus 2x 30mm MK-108 cannons. The B-version would be an attack plane with provision for 1400 kg of bombs. As a glider launched from the Do-217, the wooden Me-328 flew fine. But the addition of the pulsejets caused massive vibrations and so the type was eventually dropped. This is one aircraft that Hanna Reitsch flew and disliked. Everything from suicide missions to being launched by a U-boat at sea were considered, but the pulsejets were impractical for any mission. Landing was also to be by central skid like the Me-163 and in operation would glide back to base unpowered, another vunerability to Allied fighters...
Pulsejet fighter was crude
combat denied

As glider, it flew very good
Was excitin’
Parasite flyin’

Then, the crude pulsejets were added
A terrible sound
They performed so badly
Had to be moved from rear to wings down

Pulsejet fighter was crude
combat denied
In ‘45

It was crude
It was crude
It was crude
And it was made of wood
Vibration severe
Pilot panicky
In combat, no good

Ear-splitting
Pulsejet fighter was crude
combat denied
(pulsejets were not fitting)
