Even though Col. Gadhafi was eccentric if not insane, he lived lavishly much to the anger of his population. He did, however, have his own concept car built in Italy which was claimed to be the safest car in the world- the awesome Saroukh el-Jamahiriya. (aka The Rocket). The Gaddafi Rocket concept was premiered at the African Union Summit which took place in Tripoli. The Gaddafi Rocket concept, which was presented as "the safest car in history", is a four-door sedan with very sharp aerodynamics. The safety systems of the Gaddafi Rocket concept include a number of airbags, a front spoiler which protects the passengers in case of impact and other electronic gizmos. Apparently, the Gaddafi Rocket concept was built with the Colonel’s own money, who even built a small production facility for his creation. The prototype however, was built by the Italians from Tesco TS and was priced at 2 million Euros.
