The HK P-11 underwater pistol had been denied for decades by the Germans but was furnished to the US Navy SEALS, the British SBS, and used by the German Kampfschwimmers (German Navy SEAL equivalent). The 5-round pepperbox pistol is factory loaded and attached to the pistol grip. It is electrically fired by a battery in the grip to an underwater range of up to 49 ft and on land in the air up to nearly 100 ft. It's purpose is to kill underwater foes, but can be used on land as well. It fires a 3.9 inch steel dart with a small rocket motor. The rival Soviets came up with both an underwater pistol SPP-1 and underwater AK!!! Although a Cold War weapon, the P-11 is still in issue along with many SOCOM weapons HK specifically designed for them. Author has had hundreds of assault weapons in life and has been to US Army test facilities in Arizona but has never fired this weapon. Saw one on display once...
