Parody Song Title:

"Replacement for the Japanese Zero"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Japan's Shinden was freakin' awesome and also had swept-wings in addition to everything mentioned below. It was one of the rare canard fighter prototypes that flew.... top speed 466 mph!!!
Replacement for the Japanese Zero
Shinden, “Magnificent Lightning”

Try to stop the bombing of Tokyo
Gotta get it flyin’
Captain Tsuruno got it flyin’

A pusher type with 2,130 hp Mitsubishi Ha-43, canard bandit
6-blades spinnin’ around
Four 30mm Type 5 cannons- devastating
It’s got to put the B-29s down

Replacement for the Japanese Zero
Shinden, “Magnificent Lightning”
Ran out of time

Gotta produce you
Gotta produce you
Gotta produce you
Gotta produce you somehow
August 3, 1945 in the air
Fighter Emergency!!!
The IJN needs you right now

Not meant to be
Replacement for the Japanese Zero
Shinden, “Magnificent Lightning”

I once built a 1/72 scale plastic model kit of one of these planes. Saw a Rutan style canard airplane landing one time as I drove near the airport. At first I thought I was seeing a mid-air collision.

Wonder how that contraption would have behaved onboard an aircraft carrier? A nice design and good performance, but probably appalling ground behaviour. Anyway, go-go-go.

The Japanese were planning a turbojet version... but it sits up high and has tricycle gear, wonder how an arrestor could work with that??? Seems like they would have to employ a net barrier system or emergenyc line system to slow it down but it almost certainly would nose down on the deck IMHO...

Neat plane!!! Was this the fastest of world war II?
