The Lyrics

Little-known is the German presence on Alexandra Island in the Artic circle from 1942-44. It was a metrological site and also possibly a base to hunt for ancient artifacts known as "Schatzgraber" or "Treasure Finder." The Germans gathered weather information, but had to emergency pull out by U-boat in 1944 due to becoming sick from bad polar bear meat. From 1942 until the 1990s the Nazi base was the only presence on the barren island until Russian explorers got there...
Meat took a toll on you
Before '45

Artic circle island clues:
"Treasure Finder" mythology
But real war meteorology

The way Hitler planned it
Monitor conditions all around
Alert U-boats in vicinity
To look for ships all year round

Meat took a toll on you
Before '45
'Cause you had to survive

Bunker proof
Ammo too
Equipment used
Generators to keep warm
But food was scarce
Ran out, so hunting
Polar bear meat caused alarm!

Infected meat
Meat took a toll on you
Before '45
(Yes, you had to retreat)
