Parody Song Title:

"We Forced a Change on You (Google's Song to YouTube)"

Parody Written by:

Max Power

The Lyrics

Google's at it again and it gets worse, will YouTube survive in the cutthroat world of social network modeling that she doesn't belong to in the first place (along with her fans who have been dragged into this mess)?
We forced a change of you
Since you're mine

You oughta drop the hope you had
Please stop cryin'
Yes, you are dyin'

Don't care that you hate it
We'll run you aground
Do not call us "stupid"
'cause in the end we'll put you down

We forced a change on you
To us, you're fine
You're fine

We'll cut ya
We'll change ya
We'll screw ya
We don't care anyway
Yes, we don't care
If you want a say
Well, we don't care

Oh hear ye
We forced a change on you
We think it's fine
Find out next time...
Seriously, stop it Google!

Don't forget + at the end.

(SOTM) Without your parenthetical subtitle, no one could surmise that this parody has anything to do with Google/Youtube. It reads like some sort of evil metal or angry punk rock track. What is it about this song that makes John Barry & Robert Arndt Jr so obsessive?

I agree with Grim, this one was kind of hard to follow and there was no real story to follow. Not bad, but could have been better.

Max-555! @Agrimorfee, I can't speak for JAB but my IPASOY parodies are used as a base song for information. And individual songs stats for this OS are no different from other songs done 100s of times (think Beatles, Sinatra, Nat King Cole, etc...)! Also IPASOY and WHP (Wild Honey Pie) are two horrible songs to parody- the fun is variance IMHO. JAB uses artistry and I cram info into mine and on occasion use Milspeak or Technolang with heavy acronym usage with little-to- no footnotes (if you don't know it, look it up)! Btw, although TT's death is a loss I did not care for his footnotes b/c they only should be used with historical information. Nothing he ever wrote was news to me, but I'm 100% sure that much of what I write is not only little-known, but in some cases unknown to the masses (the priviledge of being connected to Intel and Military with broad base of knowledge AND life experience combined). I think I'll move along now and do "They Put Me in a Zoo (Version 19)" ;-)

What happened to TT?

Rob: IIWIILIU (If I want information I'll look it up.) For sure, I won't go to a parody and, for me, if I have to interrupt my reading to look up the meaning of a military acronym, fuhgeddaboudit. I'm getting around to reading the parodies of prolific authors. JAB is a clever and erudite wordsmith, but he writes too many sentence fragments, which make for herky-jerkiness. So what looks like tours de force are not simple to read or easy to sing. "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." -- Einstein. BTW, try not to boast. I've read some of your parodies. I don't know why you bother; you give the info in your prefaces. I wonder how many on this site are interested in such fine detail about war and weapons. You have much of that. Shouldn't you always try to please all the readers, if you can, instead of foisting such specialized data on them? I agree with a previous commenter that the only way to understand this parody is to read the parenthetical part of the title. Then it moves along smoothly.

Max, John Jenkins posted a thread in inthe00s.com announcing Tommy has passed on after a bout with cancer. See under Song Parodies.as

Saw it, caught me by surprise. I always wonder why he disappeared...:(

SOTM - Well, commenting on the comments rather than the parody here I'm sad to hear that Tommy Turtle has died - though our loss is most surely the gain of the Heavenly Choir...

(SOTM) The over saturation of the OS tends to to turn me off to most parodies using it. the subject matter is a bit of a refreshing change though and it does follow form and meter.

(SOTM) Well, that was a thing I just read. None of the lyrics had anything to do with the supposed topic, I had trouble following along to the OS...yeah, not much else to say here.

(SOTM) The actual body of the parody gave me no context, w/o the parenthetical I'd have no idea what you were talking about. Just sort of generic IMO. And to comment of Tommy's passing, I didn't really get a chance to know him. I came around after he had started posting frequently. From what I hear, I wish I had gotten to know him. My sincerest condolences to his friends and family.

Yeah the bad thing about this song is that it doesn't give you a whole lot to work with. This was alright. Not the greatest but alright.
