The Lyrics

This is my 2000th parody accomplished in just under 26 mos straight! It was intended for Memorial Day, but I missed the deadline by minutes. This is a tribute to the vets that fought the Germans in WW1 and 2. These were the greatest wars in history and Germany cost the world a decade in fighting and caused massive destruction from the Atlantic all the way to the gates of Moscow. The US and USSR became Superpowers due to Germany and the way war is fought and the weapons used are from Germany as well. It took a lot of combined effort to defeat the Kaiser and Hitler, but the US sealed their fate (at least as far as WW2 was concerned, WW1 a civilian Armistice was signed while German troops still occupied territory). Subsequent wars were fought against the spread of Communism and then terror.
The Wars were hell on you
fought both times

World War I and World War II
Germans fightin’
Many were dyin’

European habit
US tried to stay out
German forces deadly
Entry late to force Germans out

[Dark times if they had won-was no doubt]

The Wars were hell on you
You fought both times
Served time

Here’s to you
The proud and few
Women too
It took us all to fight
Enemy dared
To destroy the Free
Flaunt German might

[Under two Reichs]

Liberty!
The Wars were hell on you
You fought both times
(Courage saved humanity)

One can only imagine the courage it took to sit in a trench waiting for a shell to fall. WWI was the reason I never got to meet my maternal grandfather. Died a year before I was born. If you are ever in Kansas City, you must see the WWI Museum.

TY to those that left positive reviews for this patriotic parody. Tim certainly has a right to have his say, but is he talking about total parodies or just Hawkins'??? In any case the answer is a firm NO. I will continue to write as long as I can, but it is ironic that these 1-bombers and critics have hit me during an actual slowdown period!!! I should have achieved this goal at 20 mos but did it just under 26 mos. I have 2000 parodies and 4157 submissions= 6157 total submissions. I am still the ONLY Top 10 Parodist (#4) that is also Top 10 Contributor (#6). That makes me unique on AiR. So my critics really have nothing solid against me. I have more artists than they do, more time periods, certainly the most diverse topics, I cover the taboo massacres, I do KPOP on a regular basis, I use unusual materials to parody, and I TRY to provide a wealth of infomation on obscure history, science, warfare, aviation, etc... Yeah, I use Hawkins a lot, but in a good way most of the time. I am closing on 600 with him and 150 Wild Honey Pies which are used as a personal challenge as the song is horrible. Many have confused that song with the Beatles "Honey Pie" which is a completely different OS. WHP is just repetition of honey pie in 8 lines and then 1 line of 6 syllables: "I love you Honey Pie." To rewrite this over and over using different topics is fun for me and it IS simplistic which is what the OS is. So how can anyone criticize me for the ease of production? I was not the first to use either OS and these critics do not condemn JAB and the old vets for endless repetition of old, outdated songs from one era. I am 49 yrs old and love modern as well as all genres. I do Gaga, Shakira, Ke$ha, Madonna, Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Demi Lovato, Bieber, Gomez, Guetta, Swift, Pussy Riot, and so on. I grew up in the 70s and 80s so lots of Bee Gees, Go West, Hall & Oates, AC/DC, Van Halen, Hagar, Ozzy, and I could just go on- my artist page reveals that. So enough of lying about my "limited capabilites." The self-proclaimed pacing police are not perfect and their songs, lots of them, suck. Even JAB's artistry can be viewed as mere Playboy material (and he is on What Freaks). My friends have read his works and say while excellent with pacing and artistic language, he can also be viewed as pandering to base desires that are crude. i am amazed that many of the vets write on overly simplistic topics like everyday stuff and on occasion even toilet humor which seems to rate high here. I usually just write off the top of my head and my topics follow a W4 type: War, Weapons, Women, and Weird. My style is sarcastic, morbid, witty, and informative. That's me and I have a niche of fans judging by the hits and 5s. If not for the 1-bombers my entire sheet would be confined to 4s and 5s. But for some reason this year 2013 is all about bombing my parodies. And these bombers are vets and some use false S/Ns and play sock puppet... which is sad. And if a newbie criticizes, who cares? Do at least 500 parodies before making judgements on those that can do thousands!!! Peace Y'all :)

every site gets hijacked at some point. not a very witty tune. you sound like a rather angry conservative with an odometer fetish of writing
Tim Rice - May 29, 2013 - Report this comment
Not fetish. Obsession. Why do you think all your 1s are from bombers? The voting box has a category called "How Funny." Do you think this parody and all your info parodies about weapons and the Third Reich are funny? You don't even intend them to be. So man-up and take the 1s which are sincerely given and richly deserved. The reader wants to be entertained, not bored, by factoids relating to your special interests. (I've read a couple dozen random parodies from your catalog.) Relax, use your imagination, deliver the laughs, and the overall 4s and 5s will follow.

Good Memorial Day sentiments in the parody and interesting rant in your comment, Rob. The comment makes sense except for the “Do at least 500 parodies before making judgments on those that can do thousands” sentence. This sentence seems to value quantity of parodies without regard to quality. It also suggests that we should pay more attention to the work and comments of Tokusou Sentai Blessranger (1,918 parodies on AmIRight) than those of Spaff.com (188). You know better than that.

The author of the parody has authorized comments, and wants YOUR feedback.
