I seldom write sports parodies but I live in Sacramento and am absolutely fed-up with the Kings frontpage news everyday. The NBA wants to block the Maloofs (65% ownership) from selling to Seattle which would bring basketball back to that city after 5 years. The Seattle bid is $406 million, $65 million more than the Sacramento Ranadive bid which will NOT be raised. If the entire board denies the Seattle move, then the Maloofs will sell a 20% share to Seattle anyway valued at $125 million and snub Sac's group, retaining control. I am one of those that approve of getting rid of the Sacramento Kings and the arena plan for downtown. The K St. Mall Project is also intertwined in this fiscal planning mess and what to do about all that railyard property sitting idle that could be developed into almost anything on a grand scale: new office space, retail space, luxury apts, entertainment and cultural center, restaurant space, new site for the California Exposition, etc... This Kings deal has disrupted the Mall Project already and stalled work on the railyard that could create a huge amount of jobs and local revenue.

If the Kings move, good riddens...
