Parody Song Title:

"Don't Have No Feud With You"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The first purpose of parody writing is to have fun.
Don't have no feud with you
What you wrote

You'll keep writing the things you do
You'll keep writin'
Yes, you'll keep writin'

You know some can't stand it
It's my running joke
You know lots of strange facts
Don't misunderstand, won't put you down
Won't put a shell on you
It's all in fun
Just fun

I read you
I read you
I read you
I read you every day
And I don't care
If I get all ones
Say what you think
I hear you
Keep casting spells on us
I learn from you

Funny and clever of you to join the "Spell" throng...after your "MacArthur Park" spoof

"Consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds". I feel mine shrinking day by day. I noticed "Hu's on First" did four "Because I Got High"'s today. I think we may be seeing a trend here of everyone adopting a "theme" song. "Spell" may be short, but it's not always easy. I'm a long way from 400 of them. But it is the only tune I've used more than twice. Still trying to decide if I want to revise my "American Pies".

Does this include doing the feral topics too with this OS Patrick? ;-) and 5's for your parody! I don't have a feud with you either... :-)

Agreeing wholeheartedly with the 'parody/fun' paradigm. This was a nice short, sweet jaunt. And liked the dual 'shell' meaning, was that on purpose or a happy accident?

What might I have wrought?!

Warren, I try not to write too much unintentionally. I don't have a feud with that individual either. Actually, I just now realized how the other meaning of "shell" would be a good fit for the author I was addressing. It was too tempting to pass up. It is funny how we can become so, dare I say intimately connected via this medium to someone we've never met, never will meet, and in this instance, won't ever know his real name, where he lives, or what he looks like. But in some ways I feel I know him better than one of my own brothers. At least with "Spell" no one can accuse me of getting the wrong number of syllables per line. I may have another Spell in me somewhere. But I rather feel that song "belongs" to John Barry or Rob Arndt, and that if decide to go the multiple route I might adopt a different melody. Maybe I'll write six "American Pies" each day, but I'll say that they are parodies of Weird Al Yankovic's "The Saga Begins". That way I won't be treading into disputed territory.

I don't know Patrick--I think if you want to parody this or any given song over and over, that's your right, personally I rarely hit the same song twice. . .but no one here claims to own any given song, in fact I'm sure John Barry is glad he's no longer the only one who hits this song (Rob Ardnt hits it a lot now to, prior John Barry was practically the only one).

Patrick - Many are called but "feud" are chosen. JAB - Better to have wrought than to rot!

"Better to have wrought than to rot". I really like that. "Sometimes the perfect is the enemy of the good" and "Sometimes, close enough is good enough". But, I am trying to revise my first "American Pie". It really does need some work. Hope to keep on raising "shell", whether its a turtle shell or an 88mm.
