The Lyrics

Here is the song about George & Germaine Briant, who was responsible for the 1951 "Beat the Clock" broadcast with 300 boy scouts, Roxanne and Bud Collyer, plus Carole.
In the sleepy town of New York City
There's a story that a scouting tells
Of Roxanne and of Carole
And for the duo behind the boy scouts

Seems they asked the audience for permission
To be helping Carole see the show
But their folks had made just one condition
That the elephants had to ring

Ev'ryone knew they had to see Roxanne
And hadn't sounded for a long, long time
Then one night the scouts came in for them
For the scouts began to show

Still the scouts are harder, goes the story
But if in your times a show is destroyed
They will watch for you in all their glory
That's the duo behind the boy scouts
