Sehr Komisch. Attributed to Mark Twain: "Wagner's music is not as bad as it sounds."

Rob - As a Wagnerite, I get this. Even more than the "Ride", my favorite orchestral excerpts are The Entry of the Gods into Valhalla (Das Rheingold), The Magic Fire Music (Die Walkure), Seigfried's Funeral Music and Brunehilde's Immolation and Finale (Gotterdammerung), Prelude to Act Three (Lohengren), and the band transcription of Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral (also from Lohengren, which I have conducted). It bothers me that RW was such a despicable man, but his music is beyond reproach. ;D

Thanks JAB, OMR... I decided on a comedic approach on this b/c I really had no initial interest to participate. I did my serious parody on the SS EFG already, but then tried to think of some weird way to do at least _one_ of this series.

Makes me imagine the ship getting bombed by Robert Duvall.

Short, but gets right to the point. OMR, I thought that there was filter to remove profanity.

Porfle, the Germans used the FOV intriduction on the German news reels for the Me-323!!! And for Patrick... are you complaining about my use of "Scheisse?" Do you not know that in German it can be crap as well as sh-t??? I see lots of parodies here unfiltered for f--k, even recently!!! Anyway, I never felt that the S-word or BS are profane as one is excrement and the other bovine excrement!!!

I said "Scheisse" in college German class once, and the teacher got real serious and said, "If you say zat vord one more time, I vill flonk you."

Thanks for boiling that down and getting to the point.

I was referring to OMR's "Götterdammerung" in the comment section. Ha! Ha!. In the novel "Gone With The Wind", Scarlet hears about some German opera that sounds like profanity. I've seen the uncensored S-word, and used in myself. Likewise the F-word seems to make regular appearances here. But I have seen it edited out of the comments section. The other day I used a word to describe the setting of the hammer of a weapon. This same word is used for the male of many bird species. The filter removed that word and forced me to use a different expression. Mit Scheisse auf Deutsch habe ich keine Problem.

Yo, Patrick. I learned this in German and Arts + Music classes in college: "Götterdammerung" simply means "twilight of the gods". It's not a profanity word and it has ZILCH to do with "G.D."
