The Lyrics

Do you suffer from amiright withdraw on the weekends? I do. If you don't know this tune, it is an English Rennaissance folk song which I have always held dear...much as the writers here.
It's Monday morning
And as my wife's still snoring
I crave without warning
Updates from amiright!

Two days with nothing new.
I cannot wait - can you?
Waited all the weekend through
For Monday's fresh delight.

What will my witty friends
Have posted? Well, it all depends
If they all had wild weekends
And parties every night.

It would be just my luck
Swine flu's infected Chuck.
No new posts? How that would suck!
How that would really bite!

My mind is quite a-whirl
I need Turtle and Fiddlegirl,
And barbs that Barry will hurl
From over on the right.

Mark, Tim, and Won - come through!
John - "Put a spell on you!"
Christie, Andria - both true!
blackjack - give us some light!

On Saturday/Sunday
No posts to chase the blues away
I need alvin's fine wordplay.
I'm a pitiful sight!

I cannot wait to see
More Phil and Michael P.
Oh how much they mean to me -
My friends at amiright!

I know I forgot some of you. That gives you the right to tell me in comments. Just keep your finger off of that damned 1 key! ;D

Thanks won and Scotti. I pen a tribute to my amiright firiends, and you are the only two who acknowledge it. I guess my politics have made me a persona non gratia here. So, call me rob! :(

If only we conributors could persuade the editors to "work" 7 days per week! OMR, get a life (on weekends)....just kidding. I feel a similar frustration when I finish a new parody after 8 AM on Friday...often get up early then. Current news can be stale by Monday. But anticipation makes delayed gratification sweeter. Enjoy it once every week!.

A fine tribber from the Ribber! I did not get to read this until Tuesday morning. Thanks for lighting up my day with a mention. =:-)

It does seem a little slow here lately, but don't rob us of your parodies, keep cranking them out. ;-)

Thanks for the mention! Great job, and I will keep my finger on the 5 key.

OMR, I just caught your comment about "call me Rob" about your politics, and I can say that you are a much better writer than he is, and that you are kinder and far more amusing than him, all at the risk of him flaming me for what I just said. I don't know who I could be compared to here, maybe AFW or Michael Pacholek on the political side, Christie Marie M on commenting and blackjack21 or Alvin Rhodes on the parodies themselves. Once again, good work.

The original of this now makes me think of Michael Crawford as Frank Spencer in 'Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em' (70's sitcom), auditioning to be a Butlin's Redcoat by singing this song! When Jim Moray recorded the song, I still had thoughts of Crawford (as Frank) saying to the main Redcoat, 'Side together, side together, point, AND!' when trying to get his moves right.
