The Lyrics

News stories report that Beyonce's rendition of the National Anthem, at Obama's Inauguration, was pre-recorded to insure her performance..
Oh, say can you see,
Why Beyonce's not right
As so loudly she wailed
On Obama's show, gleaming

All the measures and bars
Of her song that took flight,
While the millions would watch,
Was a record just beaming..

All a prefix of flair,
That came blasting out there
Big goof on that night,
Like some amateur fare..

A phony performance..
Was all that she ga-a-ave
Should've said, "Damn the risk!"
Shown the world she was brave..

Kelly Clarkson sang live,
And James Taylor, as well
Both were honest and real
Leaned on no untrue poses..

Down in time, this must stand
Her grand moment to post
Like a forever bell..
Or some bible pressed roses

How revered will it seem
Such charade of a dream
Filed In hist'ry's archives
A recorded scheme..

Just a Star Bungled Banner's
What Beyonce' ga-a-ave
Should've said, "Damn the risk!"
Shown the world she...was...brave

AFW - Indeed! There are many "performers" who must have the studio magic to sound acceptable and Beyonce isn't one of them. Still, I'll take her pre-fab anthem over Alicia Keys's interminable and over-the-top rendition of "Obama's On Fire". ;D

I love a charade.

555! Beyonce didn't have time to properly rehearse with the USMC Band so they used the standard pre-recorded version. Nothing wrong on Beyonce's end as she has an awesome voice. All inaugurals are pre-recorded now for weather conditions and unexpected interruptions.

I was awestruck by her performance of a song that has bedeviled a lot of professionals. A bit disappointed now that it was a recording. Still, it was one bright moment in a day that promised nothing but gloom for the next four years.

Thanks, OMR...and John, Rob...nothing wrong with her voice or anything else...stress that anything else...Taylor and Clarkson sang theirs live...what bothers me is - if they're going to pre-record...announce it up front...otherwise, it seems kinda' sneaky...I know there are a lot of untruths in politics..and. I may be old fashioned, but I believe music, and/or presentations should be totally honest...and thanks, Patrick..gloom is in the eye of the beholder...being one of those terrible leftists, I didn't sense gloom
