We of Podunk and Doo Wah Diddy,
And everywhere in between,
We who choose not to fall for
The most crudest of stereotypes
That Faux News wants perpetuate
In the name of our soverignty,
Let alone "True Patriot Love;"
Let us all reject them now!

We are not the Joe Sixpack type,
We are not Dittoheads neither,
Nor do we fall for Faux News;
Let us be AMERICANS!

And to ye so-called Angry White Males
Eating Krispy Kreme Donuts,
Acting obnoxious as well
In your pseudo-patriot love,
Excusing, as it does, racism
And xenophobic hatreds:
Get a life, for once, and scram, as well;
You don't know whereof you speak!

Don't listen to Rush Limbaugh,
Don't watch Faux News, either;
All we are are real AMERICANS,
So understand for once!

There are lots of other choices
Out there for the news we get--
And we are not talking prolefeed
That the zealots package as "news;"
It's really cheap propaganda bromides
Of no real substance, anyway;
Truth is mighty, and shall prevail,
Even in The True America!

So shut it, ye so-called "patriots,"
Shut it, ye sky-pilot frauds;
We are real AMERICANS,
And we will not be bowed!

Ye who see Old Glory in the same league
As the Nazi swastika flag--
As in Holy and Sacred Icon
Of National Worship and Honour--
You interpret things too much,
You cross that all-too-thin line
Separating love from danger
Of fanaticism run amuck....

Take your warped interpretations
Of symbols patriotic;
We Americans will not stand for
How you pervert Patriot Love!

How you give our land a bad name
In the eyes of the World So Wide,
Just as "master race" delusions
Ruined Nazi Germany,
As apartheid did South Africa,
As State Shinto did Japan;
The way you drive America towards
Could be very dangerous!

We will not stand to suffer
The extremes of jingo excess,
For we are REAL AMERICANS,
Not the wind-up toy models!
