The Lyrics

During WW2 the lovers often wrote on their letters acronyms like S.W.A.K., S.W.A.L.K., B.U.R.M.A. and N.O.R.I.C.H. as well as XOXO. This started out as phrases of love which could be taken by the enemy for codes concerning troop locations, so acronyms were substituted for love and affection. The troops waited for these for morale boosting more than stacks of Nudy cards and pin-up posters!!!
