Here's a song I do know, and the pacing is perfect. I disagree with the author (Rush wakes me up -- to reality) but I gotta "give it up" with 5s. I just hope the author sleeps through the next election. ;^)

Phil, pacing is a primary priority for me. It lies at the heart of a successful parody. I am no fan of Limbaugh. The 1-votes come from anonymous Rush acolytes. Votes should be based on humor and pacing, not ideology. Barry has the right spirit. Keep those 1-votes coming, children of the shadows. I accept them as compliments.

I guess I find it hard to believe that Limbaugh has the sort of fans that will bother to downvote a parody that isn't really that nasty to him (especially when you think of some of the things that could be said about the hypocritical slimeball.. as I think about it, I find it hard to believe that Limbaugh has any fans at all, TBH :-) )

Re pacing, as the years have gone by, I've found that I aim less for perfect pacing when compared to the OS, and more towards something singing through well - I will frequently use one or two more or less syllables in a line to make it easier or better to sing. Probably because most of what I'm writing these days is meant for performance :-) But it's always good to see new parodists around doing good stuff - keep it up, Al :-D
