The Lyrics

A day in the life of Elphaba, the misunderstood leading lady in the hit musical Wicked.
It’s not easy being green
Wanting nothing but to stay home inside my room
Despite knowing that Glinda has my back… or so, or so I hope
Because she seems to be a real good friend

It’s not easy being green
I cannot seem to find the right makeup colors for me, I find
It frustrating, and so does Glinda, as she has been dying to give me a makeover
After my fancy facial

But green’s the color of spring
And spring is a-wa-ken-ing time and
Green is the color of Earth and all
Of nature and all its goodness
And that’s good for me
I see green around me and it’s consoling to know that I am not alone

Damn it, I am green! But I’ll be fine because I know
Defying gravity is my game.

This parody has some dry humor, but she's going to end up all wet.

Yeah, she likely will... though I believe it's her sister who melts. Thanks! =)

Rebekah - It was certainly a compliment, as were my 5s. My knowledge of Wicked is confined to a few songs. I also like your =) symbol. ;D

Thanks, Old Man Ribber! I appreciate the compliment and the 5 vote. The way it was worded I wasn't sure if you'd meant it that way or if it was sarcasm. (The Internet is BAD at conveying things the way you intend them to be conveyed.) Myself, I've heard of a few songs from the musical, but I'm more familiar with the storyline itself.
