The OS is frequently used for scatting, and its repetitive syllables make it suitable for the present purpose. Also Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s You-tube video is a delight. A large family of secret, minority or children’s languages is included in the linguistic group “Gibberish”. Perhaps best known of these is Pig Latin, which may date back centuries, although its reported use in T. Jefferson’s letters is likely spurious. However, PL does have some status – words such as ixnay and amscray are included in some English slang dictionaries, Google has a PL-translator as a language tool, and parts of the Bible have been translated into PL. The OF language on the other hand is a variant of a group of dialects involving insertion of a fixed sound to each syllable usually after the initial consonant, e.g. bOFad = bad. This language, learned eons ago at summer camp, seems under threat of extinction, as elderly speakers are reaching their senescence, there is no recorded literature, and singing is challenging owing to all the extra syllables.

@Porkus. An observant and instructive comment. But, If a single verse of PL in a musical from 81 years ago is the only sign of life for PL, then it too, like OF is an endangered cultural artifact.
