The Lyrics

Having recently done one anagram parody, and one acrostic, I decided it was time to do an acronym...
Tell me DILIGAF?
Your sob stories make me laugh
While I sip my brandy
Don't you understandy?

Oh, so
Tell me DILIGAF?
You won't make me care-at-all
I'll never be there-at-all
One look should tell you so

Why should I, why should I, why should I call?
But you say that ain't cricket
I don't care, I don't care, I don't at all
I'll tell you where to stick it... so

Tell me DILIGAF?
To help would be a silly gaffe
I would be a liar
To care if you expire
Tell me DILIGAF?

Don't want to - don't want you, isn't it clear?
By now, surely you know?
Oh, sod off! Oh, sod off! Oh, sod off, NOW!
It's time for you to go

Tell me DILIGAF?
Make me want to really laugh
Go and find a sicker gent
To help with your predicament
Tell me DILIGAF?
Tell me DILIGAF?
OK, DILIGAF?
OK. DILIGAF?

Pardon my ignorance. But what is a DILIGAF?

I think Johnny just answered that for you John. I didn't know either until I read Johnny's "do I look like I give a..." altho (thinking) why not the doubly LL, Phil?

Clever and creative (as always). Very fun read.

You're absolutely right about the double-L, Stuart - I guess it's just that I recently came across DILIGAF (spelt that way) and loved the way it scanned to "Lollipop"... interestingly enough, if you have a look here: http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?String=exact&Acronym=DILIGAF&Find=Find it turns up an answer (even though it's not exactly right). So you'll just have to read "looklike" as one word ;-)

...so it's wrong - DILLIGAF?

My first encounter with DILLIGAF was about 5 years ago when my wife and I went to see her relatives out of state. She neglected to mention that some of them were HEAVY into the biker scene. I walked into where we were all getting together and was taken back, quite out of my element. They had what appeared to me as gang jackets on, with a patch that said "DILLIGAF" over the left front breast pocket. Curiosity overrode my inane fear of these guys so I asked them what gang DILLIGAF was. One looked at me in a manner that suggested I was in for a beatdown and then he and two others within earshot begin laughing hysterically. They told me what DILLIGAF stood for, and to make a long story short (too late at this point) a great time ensued.
