I’M BEGINNING TO FEEL MY AGE THIS CHRISTMAS

I’m beginning to feel my age this Christmas
Everything I do.
Instead of my having fun, I’m upsetting everyone,
Although I’m trying hard, what can I do?

I’m beginning to feel my age this Christmas
All my aches and pains.
It’s a pity there isn’t snow and there’s nowhere I can go
In these heavy rains.

I see a sack full of toys for the girls and the boys
And booze for my daughter and son.
I get a scarf and I manage a laugh
While the family have their fun.
But all the while I’m wishing I was somewhere in the sun.

I’m beginning to feel my age this Christmas
Growing tired and old.
Having to stay in the warm, avoiding every storm,
I simply cannot stand the freezing cold.

I’m beginning to feel my age this Christmas
But be of good cheer,
As I’m not going to go just yet; I’m willing to have a bet
I’ll be here next year!
