"Thank Kevin for Labor's Woes"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A "dedication" to Australia's Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd (well, at the time of writing this anyway)
I think about election day
Around two-thousand seven,
Three years have passed, and now's the time
For me to say...

Thank Kevin for Labor's woes,
For stuffing up this country to its core,
Thank Kevin for Labor's woes,
If this keeps on, Australia won't be more.

The time is nearing, so here's my confession.
I've lost my trust in him since the Recession.

Thank Kevin for Labor's woes,
And come election time
I doubt his votes will really climb,
Without him, what will Labor's guys do?

Thank Kevin...
Thank Kevin...
Thank Kevin... for Labor's woes

(Instrumental)

The time is nearing, so here's my confession.
I've lost my trust in him since the Recession.

Thank Kevin for Labor's woes,
And come election time
I doubt his votes will really climb,
Without him, what will Labor's guys do?

Thank Kevin...
Thank Kevin...
Thank Kevin... for Labor's woes

So you want the bigoted warmonger and economic ignoramus John Howard back? I wouldn't wish that on any country. Certainly not my own, fortunately we also now have a head-of-government for all the people -- even the small minority who hate his guts. I still can't figure out, though, why Australia's conservative party is called the Liberal Party. Sure would be a shock to American conservatives, were they not so ignorant as to presume that all "liberals" are "socialists" and/or "communists."

When I first saw the title I thought "Labor" was referring to childbirth and Kevin was the father of the baby...

As an Aussie ex-pat living in London, I thought I'd check this out. Seems 24/7 Kevin is getting the same stick as many leaders who were in power when the big R struck. Dubya and the GOP took a long walk off a short plank, here in the UK we've just given the Scotsman a one-way ticket back to the land of the deep-fried Mars Bar...so I'm not surprised Ruddy is coppin' it big time. Still...I could never stand Howard (Bring back Hawkey!)...as for the parody: not bad, but you need to vary it a bit more, and look for humour...even with political parodies. 534

Lumped together with the fall of Gordon Brown, it appears to be as bad a time for Labo(u)r as it is for management. ;D

"Liberal" once meant a philosophy of individual liberty, while "Conservative" meant preservation of status quo. "Liberal" was the term adopted by the progressives and socialists who want to micromanage the economy and individuals' under the power of a big government. Hence the term "Libertarian" for a belief in laissez-faire and individual autonomy. Conservatives now seek to restore rather than preserve a supposed idyllic age. As Ayn Rand would put it, the Liberals want you to be free sexually or socially, while controlling your economic actions, the Conservatives want you to be free economically to earn and keep what you earn, while telling you what you can do with your body (sex, drugs, etc). But eventually the two forces would join into one monolith who want to control what you eat and take everything you earn.

Excellent title and very good parody.

For anyone wanting to know, I only wrote that to indirectly express the views of the (NSW) Daily Telegraph which always seems to be have a problem with the Labor Government for some reason. And while I myself don't hold any grudges against Kevin Rudd (let's face it, it's a lot harder having to run a country than you might think), there seems to a fair number of Australians who believe that something just had to go wrong. (By the way, as at the time of writing, Kevin Rudd has been replaced by Julia Gillard as Prime Minister of Australia)
