The Lyrics

Anybody who claims that he/she has picked every game correctly in this year's N.C.A.A. men's basketball tournament is either (1) unimaginably lucky, (2) a liar, or (3) a dangerous lunatic. I chose the Margaret Whiting version for this parody because she takes less liberties with the ending than Andy Williams. ;D

It's a most unusual year.
There are four teams that shouldn't be here.
For the N.C.A.A. should not turn out this way.
What the hell is going on here?

It's a most unusual "Dance".
All the one seeds got kicked in the pants.
And it's scary indeed that a number three seed
Has the highest rank! What's the chance?

Where is Duke and - where is Kansas?
Where's Pitt and Ohio State?
And the only - Big East badass
Is U.Conn, who has been tough of late.

Who'd have ever picked V.C.U.?
Is this Butler's Dream Season Part Two?
And your brackets will suck if you left out Kentuck'
'Cause the 'Cats are coming to play.
It's the strangest N.C.A.A.!

(Long instrumental interlude, with the vocal returning at the second section)

It's the oddest tourney this time.
All the world's as bufuddled as I'm.
For with all the upsets there are no sure-fire bets.
I'm glad I did not bet a dime.

All the pundits - gave predictions.
They had research, did the math.
They all told us - their convictons.
Now the "experts" are taking a bath!

When Obama went on T.V.,
He picked all four top seeds (hee hee hee).
Let us hope the go-getter will do a lot better
When his plans come into play!
It's the most miraculous, most bedeviling,
Strangest N.C.A.A.!

Kentucky - A state, not just a basketball team! ;D

ESPN said that of the millions of people who played their picks game, only TWO people correctly picked Kentucky, Connecticut (not that hard), Butler (who made it last year so it's not a total shock) and Virginia Commonwealth (a tremendous shock). And one was from my home town! (I don't know him, though.) This is why it's called "March Madness."

Five players on a team; 2 x 5 feet from the floor to the rim.

Thank you. March Madness can be diagnosed by very erratic Vitale signs! ;D
