The Lyrics

The truth will out. :-)
You prob’ly heard … another version
of this story … long ago,
but that was just … romantic rubbish …
what really happened … you ought to know:
At the bot … tom of the river
in diff'rent deep and … wat’ry graves
lie Running Bear … and Little White Dove
because they were … libido’s slaves.

Running Bear… and Little White Dove
mistook love… for a hormonal high.
So beware: … if it’s not quite love,
don’t risk you life, …’cause you could die.

On opposite … sides of the torrent
their warring tribes’ wig … wams were pitched
when Running Bear … and Little White Dove
felt a burning … great carnal itch.
Running Bear … and Little White Dove
longed to be each … other’s squeeze
but lust was balked … by tribal friction
and water dee … per their knees.

Running Bear … and Little White Dove
couldn’t wait … for droughty July
so the pair, … calling “Tonight, love!”
tried to brave … the waters high.

Running Bear … dove in the water,
Little White Dove … did the same.
He couldn’t swim, … she couldn’t either
“Oh sh*t!” folks heard … them both exclaim.
But unlike Butch … and sidekick, Sundance ,
they each sank at … once and drowned
and so they never… got together,
in that Happy Hunting Ground.

Running Bear … and Little White Dove
mistook love … for a hormonal high.
So beware: … if it’s not quite love,
don’t risk you life, … ’cause you could die.

Thanks all.
Cougaress -- huh? (Tho' I did do a parody last year about Tonto; OS was "Some Enchanted Evening")
Eagle -- can't imagine why the OS was offensive, just as I can't imagine why anyone'd be offended by Braves fans' a$$-headed "oh-oh-oh-oh" chopping hand cheering.
Andy -- me too. :-)

Sorry I missed this one when it first came out. After 50 years, at last the truth is revealed, and, unlike the original, it's funny!
