The Lyrics

I hymned and hawed a lot about actually submitting this tasteless bit, but as it will, if posted, be my milestone 50th, decided what the ... nothing's sacred in parodyland. :-)
I walk thru’ the boros alone
In depths of abyssal psychosis
As my neighbor’s cur’s telepathic spur
Insistentently proposes ..

“Davy, kill! Kill! Kill!”
And of course I will.
(But that whole demon-dog thing’s a scam:
Son of Sam I am
And I’ll shoot – Blam! Blam!
Whoever serves green eggs and ham.)

The dog speaks and I have no choice
Fate’s cast just like some I Ching thing
“Shoot’em dead,” you see, he has said to me,
And I must. I hear him singing …

I wish could tune out those grim
Commands even I know’re appalling
But I can’t, and so, on and on I’ll go
Whene’re I hear him calling …

© Stan Hall Actually, the SoS case was reopened in '96. Questions reamin unanswered re the dog's ties to the Baskerville mob. :-)

Methinks the dog doth protest too much, obviously guilty of something! Congrats on # 50, Stan!

Personally, I totally understand how a neighbor's barking dog could inspire someone to kill.....the neighbor. Anyway, great parody. Now I am envisioning the Zodiac Killer to "Maniac"...
