The Lyrics

This is the start of a multi-part series of Keats huge Edymion Book IV and will be the longest and greatest submission to AIR I will ever write. It is 23 pages long on WPS, so I will have to break it into segments daily. I do not know how long this will take with my health being so bad, but I wil try to do at least one large segment or more per day until finished.
NEWS of my Fatherland! Not the best News!
Plan to head to the mountains! His to choose
Divisions to move to the Alpine Redoubt:
Or else choose to stay in Berlin holdout,
Cannot sustain loss of material and men;
Outnumbered all around by force of ten;
Wunderwaffen sit unused in stockpiles;
As East and West troops roam our land- wild
Fuhrer, give us something new we can use:
A weapon to alleviate our darkest moods
Yet we are patient. SS hold the line,
Amidst our heartland: - German will defined
Our former glories, they were all in vain,
The toughest soldiers dare not speak his name
Dreams of Germania; Oh, the plans Speer made
All came to nothing: - we were all betrayed
Despite my deepest hopes. Victory gone
A war filled with regret! Allies have won,
Battle stunned, yet our latter hopes had risen
On new tech goals. V-2, our latest weapon
And the V-1, subs, the nerve gases, and jets
Such dreadful things: our losses off-set
So willful; of the German mind born
We brought them thus forth to the Allies scorn
Launch them all, repeated fire, terrorized lives
Left many dead, took Britain by surprise
V-3! But then the bombers came on strong,
To our dismay: - were taken down - now gone
Last Vengeance weapon, hit hard, breaks my heart - -

«Ah, woe to us! The Reich falling apart
Oh my dear Fatherland! Oh, darkest grave!
Eleventh hour, when, sadly, our hopes fade
The fighting goes on, many battlefields!
Hitler and the SS refuse to yield
A bitter contest, the wrath of firepower:
Yet we defy great odds! In this last hour
The beast’s lair - Berlin is the last show.»

Hitler lives underground in bunker below
The bitterest fight to the end he vows,
No one can reach him. Hitler will not bow
A raving lunatic from hell was sent
Evil tyrant, and a cross that was bent,
Filled with fear, to the beast we were drawn

«Is Hitler here to help us? We were pawns
Corrupt Weimar we had no choice. His great orating
To the vast rallies and Adler displaying
There was no greater time! So filled the streets
Where might I worship him? As my heart beats
We had lost all reason, taken by lies
Before me, mine Fuhrer, his enslaving eyes
Restoration miracle! - My soul is lost.»

You, Noble Wolf, were now Germany’s boss
Were we all fools? Gone was the despair,
Proud “Heil Hitler!“ because he truly cared
When Germany was alone and in distress,
We were alarmed! The West could have cared less!
Thus were filled with fear - But not anymore:
Hitler provided jobs and so much more,
He restored our nation, rearmament fast!
With speed and determination unsurpassed
Treaty of Versailles, it was all in vain
Revenge then? German troops march again,
The Phoenix had risen and thus was perched
Hitler’s main goal was to conquer the earth
First would be Poland, then a push beyond
Blitzkrieg begins! - Next?
The West to be won

This work is so huge that I'll have to break it down into 12 sections!!! No way this can be printed on one page- impossible. And, this is a very hard one for me due to way Keats wrote it and the length. I know a huge amount of WW2 history and the chronology, but dividing it into 12 long segments is a duanting task :(

This monumental undertaking will put my "Ancient Mariner" parodies to shame. Looking forward to all 12 segments.

But will it hold a candle to "Brozymandias", that is the question (lol). My goodness Rob, you and John are truly amazing
