The Lyrics

There's a bunch of fraudsters calling themselves the Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society who are busy trying to make money by lying about holding copyright (on generally non-copyrighted material). When challenged, they retract their claims, but plenty of people don't seem to realize that they have no right to be doing this at all. It's fraud, plain and simple: an attempt to deceive in order to make money from pop-up ads on videos.

..I think I should record this, put the video on Youtube and see if they try to claim copyright on it. That would be ironic, don't you think?
Who are the "Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society"?
A bunch of use-less ***ts accused of rampant impropriety
Don't give a damn, they'll try to scam your intellectual property
And I believe that they're just thieves and soon they'll come a cropper-ty

The stuff you make they'll try to take from you if you are unaware
About your rights of copyright, et cetera et cetera
Their nasty scheme will make it seem they're part of the bureaucracy
But it's all lies and I despise their self-serving hypocrisy

But it's all lies and I despise their self-serving hypocrisy
But it's all lies and I despise their self-serving hypocrisy
But it's all lies and I despise their self-serving hypocrisy

We have to beat their low deceit - do not let them be havin' you
They say of course they own what's yours and try to take the revenue
Make sure that they don't get away with it with impun-iety
Yes screw the Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society

Make sure that they don't get away with it with impun-iety
Yes screw the Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society

I understand they've not been banned by YouTube's adminsitrators
I think that I have worked out why, at least these are indicators:
So who makes cash from ads in Flash: there's more than one lot getting it
Google (yes them) takes a percen-tage, so don't go forgetting it

Maybe that's why: they have a fi-nancial motive to let it stay
They think the ads are not so bad because that way they pay their way
So to suggest they'll do what's best while losing cash is risible
Yes, they would lose if I removed the ads from what is visible

Yes, they would lose if I removed the ads from what is visible
Yes, they would lose if I removed the ads from what is visible
Yes, they would lose if I removed the ads from what is visible

They're utter cads who'll put their ads upon your youtube videos
They think we're dumb, these low-down scum and what they do's invidious
I wonder if they'll try to stiff me for this song's recording
They won't, I guess, find G&S's copyright rewarding

I wonder if they'll try to stiff me for this song's recording
They won't, I guess, find G&S's copyright rewarding

In fact if they began to act with touches of morality
If it transpired they were not mired in fraud and illegality
And if it came to pass their aim was more than selfish greediness
And if they'd stop and shut up shop to their rapacious seediness
If they stopped theft, upped sticks and left and no more wound us up again
If they went home, left us alone no more to put paper to pen
If they just stopped - yes, just ****ed off, no more to be the arsiest
Yes, if they left we could forget about the MPRCS

Yes, if they left we could forget about the MPRCS
Yes, if they left we could forget about the MPRCS
Yes, if they left we could forget about the MPRCS

If someone sues, you know they'd lose there's been that much infract-i-on
Let's call the law and whup these whores with one great big class act-i-on
'Cause yes, we mind they rob us blind with claims of much dubiety
So screw the Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society

'Cause yes, we mind they rob us blind with claims of much dubiety
So screw the Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society

You may recall that all this gall is brought by lies emphatical. The group in spite says owns the right but that is quite hysterical. They have no claim they run in shame. When asked to proffer writ of it . It is a Major fallacy. I Generally don't advise on it.

With G & S, it's quite all right if accent's missed or that rhyme's off,
But I'll excuse and not abuse your pacing vote; my hat I'll doff.
